Say Goodbye to Migraines With CBD From Hemp

Anyone who suffers from migraines, know that they are not just a normal allergy or stress-related headache. They can affect sufferers for a prolonged timespan anywhere between 4 and 72 hours. Moreover, even normal activities such as: walking, using home and office lights, and hearing all kinds of noise, can worsen the symptoms [1]. But there is great news: “CBD may prevent the body from metabolizing anandamide. This is a compound associated with pain regulation. Maintaining high levels of anandamides in your bloodstream may reduce your feelings of pain” [1]. Further, CBD is also believed to: “limit inflammation within the body, which may also help reduce pain and other immune-system responses” [1].

No More Side Effects

Although most migraine sufferers have used pharmaceutical pain killers as a temporarily support to help relieve their symptoms, many are worried about their adverse side effects. And this is why the miraculous actions of CBD (AKA cannabidiol), and its lack if side effects, is so advantageous [1].

Backed Up By Research

A number of research studies have indicated that cannabidiol oil could help all types of acute and chronic pain. - And this incorporates migraines. And although it has to be said that the current research on CBD's benefits for migraines is limited. - This is due to the fact that in the past, researchers were faced with hurdles due to regulations and cannabis legalization. Also, it is only in recent years that scientists have shown an interest. Yet, nevertheless, the good news for migraine sufferers, is that the results thus far, are exciting and extremely positive [1].

So What is Some of the Research So Far?

Study 1

In 2017, the Cannabis and Cannabinoid journal published the results of a six month study on the benefits of taking oral cannabis. During this time: “26 people who experienced medication overuse for headaches, took either ibuprofen or nabilone with oral cannabis for their symptoms. Each combination was used for eight weeks at a time. They also took eight weeks off in between the two combinations” [1].

Study 2

The medical journal, Pharmacotherapy, published the results of a small 2016 research trial on the benefits of medical marijuana (which contains CBD) for migraines. “Researchers found that from the 48 people surveyed, about 40 percent reported fewer migraines overall” [1]. When the study concluded, the subjects stated that they felt: more improvements and better quality of life when taking the cannabis-nabilone formula” [1]. CBD was one of the compounds which the participants ingested.

Clearly, further research from global scientific institutions, that involves a large number of participants, is essential, in order to fully ascertain the effects of pure cannabidol on migraines. Although this may take a few more years, fortunately, as the interest for this very common debilitating condition is very strong, then it will definitely happen.
