Though athletes and celebrities across the country have jumped aboard the craze for CBD oil and products, tennis was left out of the excitement until now.

Recently, the player ranked 14th worldwide, John Isner, endorsed received an endorsement from Defy, a CBD company, where he would wear their attire from time to time as part of their sponsorship.

The move follows Bubba Watson, American golf pro, who recently secured a sponsorship with cbdMD. [2]

“I play a sport where taking a single point off can be the difference between winning and losing a match and Defy is a product specifically intended to put me in a position to perform on every single point,” Isner told Fox Business. [1]

Defy’s CBD products come in three flavors and contain no THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. CBD products are non-psychoactive, so users get many of the benefits of traditional cannabis but without the mind-altering high effects.

All Defy products have 20 mg of CBD, plus loads of electrolytes to help with athletic regeneration and focus. [2]

Fox Business reports that Defy is a Denver, Colorado company co-founded by Terrell Davis, an NFL star and two-time Super Bowl winner. [1]

“Defy is leading the way in CBD for professional sports,” Beau Wehrle, Defy co-founder and CEO, said in a statement. “We know its benefits, impact on recovery and the direct relation to improved performance. It’s exciting to see pro tennis take the next important step for improving the lives of athletes everywhere.” [2]

All across the U.S., sports stars are just some of the people flocking to CBD products and there’s clear reasons why.

Preliminary studies have shown CBD’s promise as a remedy for anxiety, depression, chronic pain and face epilepsy. More research is needed, of course, but tons of people have attested to the fact that CBD is a useful supplement for their everyday needs.

Sports isn’t the only venue celebrities have used to bridge the gap to CBD. Willie Nelson, country music superstar, introduced his line of CBD coffee, Willie’s Remedy, and even Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg have shown interest in the cannabis compound.

These developments won’t likely affect hardcore fans of CBD, but for those who might tune in to a golf or tennis match and see CBD branding for the first time, deals like Isner’s could make a huge difference in day-to-day health and wellness.

Regardless of how much impact developments like this have, they are surely signs that the CBD market is thriving and promising.
