What CBD Dose Should I Take?

Everyone Is Different

Although there are 7.6 billion of us human beings, we are all very different when it comes to our biological and physiological functioning, our life history, environment, and the way our body reacts. This is also the case with CBD dosage. And because the serving size is variable for every individual, if you are a newbie to cannabidiol, starting off with a small dose is the best way to get started, and from there you can slowly raise it until you achieve the best result [1]. This will enable your body to acclimatize to the CBD oil, and negate any side effects [2].

“CBD oil is taken via vaping or ingestion. Oral CBD is less likely to cause side effects, so beginners may want to start here. You can put a few drops of the oil under your tongue, take CBD capsules, or even eat a CBD-infused treat” [2].

Staying Flexible

While some individuals only need small doses of CBD to be effective, others who take larger doses may not feel a big difference. You may feel some effects straight away, however, others could take some time to build up. The latter is particularly the case for epilepsy sufferers. In addition to the effectiveness from different doses, the variety of ways that one can take cannabidiol oil, may also invoke different reactions. To that end, be prepared to be a little patient, and spend some time finding out what works for you. - You will be very happy you did! [3].

Recommended CBD Doses

The Mayo Clinic advises CBD doses which are backed up by research trials, professional opinion, traditional use, and medical publications. The treatment period and doses are generally speaking, dependent on the particular disease [1].

Cancer Patients

In order to increase appetite take: 1 milligram (mg) for 6 weeks. For other circumstances, there is not as yet, any particular set dosage. However: “by starting with a small dose, you not only protect yourself, but you also protect your wallet. By starting with small amounts, you can better understand your body’s needs and reactions. next step is being patient with the self-experimentation process” [4].

Research indicates that CBD works via a slow accumulation, as opposed to an intense treatment. In most circumstances, achieving the optimum dose can take several weeks. “Many find that the optimum dose for acute illnesses, like cancer, is quite high. CBD can be broken up into smaller doses throughout the day. This encourages better absorption, with less waste in the digestive system” [4].

Pain Management

If you pain is chronic take: 2.5 mg to 20 mg sublingually for approximately 25 days [2].

If you are at home, the best option may be to vape the CBD oil. The National Cancer Institute notes that compared to other methods, this inhalation system delivers the CBD compounds into your bloodstream far quicker.

Substance Addiction

There is no suggested CBD dosage, as every individual's needs are different. The best method is to begin with a small dose, and then gradually build it up  [2].

If you are experiencing trouble sleeping: take 40-160 mg sublingually.

To treat epilepsy take: between 200 to 300 mg sublingually under the tongue every day for up to 4 to 5 months.

Huntington's disease: Movement Difficulties

For movement difficulties take: 10 mg sublingually under the tongue every day for a six week period.

If you suffer from this condition take: between 40 to 1,280 mg sublingually every day.

Multiple Sclerosis

For multiple symptoms take: 2.5 mg in doses of 2.5 to 120 mg for a maximum of 8 weeks. Generally speaking, sufferers take 8 sprays within any three hour period (with the maximum of 48 sprays within a 24 hour time frame) [1].
