Post Malone is entering the Hemp trade

An American hip hop star is looking to sling cannabis on the open market, but not how you may imagine.

Post Malone, famous for his raps and recent effort “beerbongs & bentleys,” is also the owner of cannabis company Shaboink. Now, he is partnering with Mario Guzman, known by the moniker “Mr. Sherbinski” and Icon Farms to produce a new line of hemp pre-rolls.

According to Yahoo! News, the new pre-rolls will have a proprietary flavor called “Posty OG.” [2]

"I'm proud to bring natural hemp pre-rolls by Shaboink to market. It's a product I personally love and know my fans will too," Malone told Yahoo! News. "Our partners are best in class and so is this product. The terpene flavors are great, and you can't beat an all-natural pre-roll.” [2]

Icon Farms President Jordan Gielchinsky said he is excited to see the combination of his company’s hemp development and Post Malone and Sherbinski’s brand recognition.

In addition to the new Posty OG flavor, Icon Farms also produces Sherbinski’s flavor, Gelato. [2]

Guzman’s company was called “the Luis Vuitton of Marijuana,” according to Hollywood Reporter. So far, Ssherbinski sells marijuana and CBD vape products.

Hollywood Reporter said the Shaboink and Sherbinksi hemp pre-rolls are in a form closely resembling cigarettes, using less than 03% THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. [3]

Unlike THC, CBD is a cannabis compound that doesn’t get users high. Since hemp was legalized in December 2018, CBD enterprises have exploded in popularity and Post Malone is far from the first celebrity interested in the lucrative opportunities within the hemp and CBD market.

Willie Nelson, Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg are just some of the other celebrities who have thrown their names into the CBD product space.

And it makes sense, since CBD markets are expected to soar in value in coming years as more and more ordinary people reach for CBD for their chronic pain, insomnia and other common maladies.

The new pre-rolls will be sold at 11,000 retail chain locations and 7,000 independent smoke shops, according to Hollywood Reporter. The brands will be unveiled for the first time at a Las Vegas trade show next week. [3]

"It’s my honor to pioneer the hemp category with Post Malone, Shaboink and Icon Farms,” Guzman said. “I’ll never forget the moment we watched their tobacco machines replaced with hemp and saw the first batch of pre-rolls come off the production line.” [3]
